SimplicityParenting2015Help your child become calmer, happier and more cooperative. Bring peace and connection to your family.

The Simplicity Parenting Workshop
with Mary Van Geffen, Certified Simplicity Parenting Coach®

7 transformative, 2-hour gatherings
Wednesdays, 9:15 AM – 11:15 AM
February 4 – March 25, 2015
Maple Village Waldorf School in Long Beach
Explore the power of less to bring more peace and connection to your family.  Join a small group of parents of young children (1 – 9 years old) and learn to:

– identify and prioritize what matters most for your unique family
– recognize when your child (or you) is overwhelmed so you can bring healing
– creatively address your child’s misbehavior and build connection
– strengthen your ability to stay calm in the middle of big emotions
– become more united with your co-parent

Together, we will strengthen our ability to simplify and slow down the home environment, create predictable and connecting rhythms, simplify your schedule and filter out adult concerns & media.

Space is limited to only 10 parents.
The curriculum for each gathering builds upon the previous one.
Tuition is $225 per person (or $375 per couple)
Register at SimplicityParentingwithMary.com or call (213) 703-7729.

Maple Village is pleased to offer The Simplicity Parenting Workshop in the evenings beginning Wednesday October 9th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. On-site childcare can be arranged in advance. This 7-week series is open to anyone who would like to register, whether or not you have a child enrolled at MVS.

Children can suffer from “too much” – too much stuff, too many choices, too much information, and much of it too fast. Allow your child to become calmer, happier, and more cooperative while investing in your own parenting journey.

Experience a facilitated blend of support, learning, reflection and practice designed to bring relief to stressed children and families, based on the book, Simplicity Parenting, Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids by Kim John Payne.

Learn how to simplify and slow down the home environment, create predictable and connecting rhythms, simplify the schedule, and filter out adult concerns.  Go beyond the book, to explore ways to connect your parenting style with your values, design small doable changes and practice meditation and conversation skills proven to enhance family harmony.

Consider making a commitment to bring more peace to your family by carving out this time in a safe, supportive space to tune out the static of the busy world, and tune into your own inner wisdom about the family you imagined.

Mary Van Geffen, a certified Simplicity Parenting Group Leader and former Maple Village parent, will facilitate. See the flyer below for registration info or visit SimplicityParentingWithMary.com.

* Please note: This is a separate class from Lisa McCarthy’s “Less Is More” parent education class this fall (see previous post).
