Raising Resilient, Confident and Courageous Children with Kathy Rinden
Tuesday, January 28th, 2014
6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Young children are in need of many skills as they find their way into the world beyond home.  There are ways for parents to encourage and support their child as they strive to develop their own internal sense of security and trust, allowing them to move forward with courage into the unknown.

Come and join us as we explore ways in which parents can be most supportive of their child’s growing sense of trust and wellbeing.  Learn how to address some common areas where children need help in order to become flexible in their feelings, stretching through their discomforts in order to find true comfort, capacity, and self-assurance.

Given by Kathy Rinden, Waldorf Early Childhood teacher and mentor, from Pasadena Waldorf School

This talk is FREE and open to all interested parents and educators!  Please RSVP!

Parent Evening at
Maple Village Waldorf School

TONIGHT

The Advantage of Combined Grades Classes
and Shady Trees Parent Evening
Tuesday, November 12, 2013
6:30 – 7:30; 7:30- 8:15 p.m.

There are many advantages to both students and the school community when children in adjacent grades are combined into multi-age classes. Maple Village School has two combined classes: the Evergreens, grades 3 and 4, and the Shady Trees, grades 1 and 2. Attend this evening to find out how the Waldorf curriculum weaves through the multi-age development of the students and how the students are enriched, both developmentally and academically, by the extended classroom community.

Ms. Ania and Ms. Christina for the Shady Trees class, and Ms. Lynne, in her third year with the combined Evergreens class, invite all parents in our community to this informative evening.

We will begin together at 6:30. Parent attendees outside of the Oaks and Shady Trees classes will be excused at 7:30. From 7:30 – 8:15 we will hold a parent meeting for the Shady Trees class along with a visit to first grade with Ms. Christina for the first grade Oaks parents.

Childcare Reservation Required. Childcare, with Ms. Victoria, is offered at a cost of $10 per child, $5 for siblings. Childcare opens at 6:15. Please call or email the office to reserve a spot and please bring a snack for your child(ren).
